Alaska does politics differently. When Senator Lisa Murkowski (R) and Representative Mary Peltola (D) both came out as strong defenders of Alaska’s fisheries, we took hold of the opportunity to commemorate an unusual moment of bipartisan cooperation. What followed was known as “The Fish Party,” a tongue-in-cheek reminder of the importance of fish to all Alaskans.
